Sounds are all around--we are immersed in them. Perhaps it’s a voice that calms us, the honk of a horn that alarms us or the soft hum of rain falling that soothes us. What we hear in our daily lives, from moment to moment matters. Sounds impact us emotionally and physically.

Sound healing is based on the Principle of Resonance: Our physical and spiritual body naturally vibrate along certain frequencies. If you are ill, anxious, upset or overstressed an imbalance occurs and your vibration will fall out of tune.

Sound therapy works to restore your body’s natural frequency and aid in returning to a harmonious balance through the use of tuned, deep-vibrational instruments such as crystal bowls, chimes, tuning forks and drums.

The meditative experience of sound therapy invites the body into a relaxed, parasympathetic state known as rest and digest. Sound therapy also works with our brain wave states. Alpha is the first state of meditation to include relaxed, daydreaming, eyes closed and it is here where healing begins as the bodies natural pain endorphins can release. Theta is a deeper meditative state to include dropping into the dream state or ‘opening the door to the subconscious’. Delta is when you are in deep sleep or when you have ‘stepped through the door and connected with your subconscious’. This is where transformative, restoring rest takes place.
